From 19 to 23 August, the Latvian National Museum of Natural History will be filled with the vibrant colours and wonderful aromas of tomatoes and herbs!
The exhibition “Tomatoes and Herbs 2026”, organised in collaboration with collectors and breeders from Artūrs Sildes’ Gardening Enthusiasts Club “Tomāts”, invites visitors to discover an incredible diversity of cultivated plants.
🍅 Around 300 tomato varieties will be on display, showcasing an amazing range of colours, shapes, and sizes—from pale pink to deep purplish-red, from round to elongated, and from tiny fruits to highly productive varieties. Alongside well-known Latvian and international varieties, visitors will also have the opportunity to discover exciting new breeding creations.
🌿 Herb enthusiasts will also have plenty to explore, with a fascinating selection including different varieties of mint, basil, rosemary, lavender, curry plant, bay laurel, kola tree, creeping spinach, and other aromatic herbs.
