On 24 September, CIDE – Centre for Research and Development in Ethnobotany opened its doors to primary and secondary school students and their teachers for a day of discovery, learning and hands-on exploration. 🌿
The programme introduced young visitors to CIDE’s research and work through an institutional presentation, visits to laboratories and gardens, and a tree-planting activity.
The experience gave students an opportunity to discover the importance of plants and biodiversity, learn more about the sustainable conservation of natural resources, and see first-hand how scientific research contributes to understanding and protecting plant resources.
By bringing young people closer to plants, nature and science, the event highlighted the importance of inspiring the next generation to value and conserve our natural world. 🌱🔬
