Taimede lummuse päev 2026 (Fascination of Plants Day – FoPD 2026) on juba kaheksandat korda Euroopa taimeteaduste organisatsiooni (EPSO – European Plant Science Organisation) egiidi all toimuv kogu maailma taimeteadlasi ühendav sündmus. Selle ettevõtmise eesmärk on äratada võimalikult laiades ringkondades huvi taimede vastu ning tõsta inimeste teadlikkust taimeteaduse olulisest rollist põllumajanduses, aianduses, metsanduses ja täisväärtusliku toidu jätkusuutlikus tootmises, samuti selliste taimedel põhinevate mittetoidutoodete tootmises nagu paber, puit, kemikaalid, energia ja ravimid. Üheks võtmesõnumiks on ka taimede roll keskkonna säästmisel.

Kutsume kõiki – koolidest tootjateni – andma oma panust! Aastatel 2012 kuni 2024 avasid paljud taimeteaduse asutused, ülikoolid, koolid, botaanikaaiad ja muuseumid ning talupidajad ja tööstusettevõtted taimede lummuse päevaga seoses huvilistele oma uksed. Inspiratsiooni üle kogu maakera toimunud interaktiivsetest taimedega seotud sündmustest leiad siit: FoPD Success Stories 2024.
During “Tallin University of Technology Open Door Day”, the Plant Laboratory greenhouse and laboratory will be open to high school students to show them how modern technologies support plant breeding and help create more disease-resistant, stress-tolerant and high-yielding plants.

Did you know that wooded meadows, shaped by the care and love of our ancestors, are among the most species-rich ecosystems in the world? Come and see for yourself!
The Palade Nature Education Centre invites you to an enchanting plant evening at the Tiharu wooded meadow on July 14th at 18:00.
Together, we will take an approximately two-hour hike through this historical heritage landscape, from the wooded meadow to the seaside. We will get to know the summer blooms of the area and see just how many different species we can find together!
Important Information for Participants:
Meeting Point: At 18:00 by the Kõpu Summer Shop (Kõpu suvepood) https://maps.app.goo.gl/cFefT91j1WMREbJC7 (from there, we will drive together to Tiharu).
Duration: Approximately 2 hours of pleasant walking.
Clothing: Please choose clothes and footwear appropriate for the weather.
Participation Fee: 3 euros per adult, please bring it in cash.
