中国植物生理与植物分子生物学学会作为中国地区的活动发起和协调方,将在全国范围内组织国际植物日科普活动,引导民众关注和思考植物在自然环境和生态系统中发挥的重要作用,增强人们关注植物、保护植物的观念和意识。

“2019 Fascination of Plants Day (Hunan province in China)”held by Hunan Agricultural University was officially launched at Chang’an practice base of Hunan Agricultural University on May 18,2019. The theme of this activity was “Plant Sciences & Agriculture Development”.
The main activities including
- Ceremony: Introducing the background and significance of this activity.
- Lectures on popular science: “Talking about seawater rice “.
- Subject signature on “Plant Sciences & Agriculture Development “
- Experience Tea-picking and tea-making,and then watching tea art performance.
- Go sightseeing horticultural plants in Chang’an practice base, such as tea plants, grapevines, Kiwi fruit trees, pear trees, peach trees and so on
More than 80 people participated in the activity on that day.

1.Onsite science popularization: Exhibit agricultural products including grains, vegetables and fruits to help the public acquire the knowledge regarding such products.
2.Lecture: Hire professionals and experts to give lectures for science popularization and explain the development and application of agricultural technology as well as the importance of the agricultural products to human health, etc.
3.Laboratory opening day: Organize a tour for the public to visit the University’s plant science laboratory, and take part in the dissection of plants and the preparation of plant specimens at the laboratory.
4. Museum tour: Organize a tour to the diversity museum for rare and endangered animals and plants, and identify plants in the field.

Arrangement:
1. Plant treasure hunting on campus: Search for the plants described by teachers on campus based on their appearance and features, reiterate their basic features, and take their photos.
2.Exploration under microscopes: Make plant slides to nurture students’ hands-on ability and observation ability, improve their interest in plants, and promote their love and conscious protection for the nature.
3. Plant photo show.
Arrangement:
1.Learn and know about the plants on the campus of Nankai University.
2.Have direct contact with plants, lead visitors including middle and primary school students and their parents to plant culture room, and observe the appearance of plants in soil culture and water culture.
3.Seed a pip which namedhope. Sow the seeds of gypsophila and mimosa, and ask students to bring them home, continue to manage and observe the whole process of growth.
4. Extract the life code “DNA” of plant. Experience the extraction of DNA from strawberry in the afternoon.

Activities including lecture, exhibition and interactive experience for science popularization under the theme of “Plant Science and Agricultural Development” will be organized for such groups as detailed in the appendix. Specific activities are as follows:
Laboratory planting base opening day: Visit the work station of Academician Chen Wenfu, urban agricultural center for universities in Yunnan Province, smart agriculture plant, plant tissue culture production center, specimen room of department of agriculture, konjac germplasm resource base, medicinal plant resource nursery, and fruit & vegetable cultivation greenhouse.
Lecture: Lectures for science popularization on plant science and agricultural development.
Exhibition: Opening, exhibition, and introduction of horticultural plants in urban agriculture science popularization base.
Video show for plant science popularization.
Teenage interactive experience: appreciate special agricultural products.

A science popularization activity themed with Where Does Our Food Come From?, Lilliputian World in Intestinal System & Big Factory in Cells, and A Talk on Caterpillar: From eating apple to Making Spider Silk was held in the Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology, SIBS, CAS on May 18. On the same day, an activity of Lab Open Day, involving 18 scientist labs and over 300 primary and high school students, was also carried out.
A science popularization activity themed with Where Does Our Food Come From?, Lilliputian World in Intestinal System & Big Factory in Cells, and A Talk on Caterpillar: From eating apple to Making Spider Silk was held in the Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology, SIBS, CAS on May 18. On the same day, an activity of Lab Open Day, involving 18 scientist labs and over 300 primary and high school students, was also carried out.
On May 20, 2019, students from the Primary School of Shanghai International Studies University, Xiwai International School experienced extracting DNA from plants and making specimens of plants, and learned about knowledge related to rainforest plants at Shanghai Center for Plant Stress Biology, right where they realized their dreams of working as a little botanist.
