The activity guides the teenage to visit Turpan Desert Botanical Garden, understand the hard process of the construction of the botanical garden, feel the harsh environment of the desert, and experience the severe test faced by the growth of desert plants. By observing desert plants from a distance, they can understand the survival wisdom of desert plants and feel the miracle in the desert created by plants, so as to establish the consciousness of protecting the environment and plants.

The activity will invite primary and secondary school students and parents to visit the campus of Nankai University and the top basic research laboratory of botany, so that they can get close to the colorful plants in Nankai University, observe the different growth states of plants, listen to the professors and doctors of Nankai University explaining the microscopic world of plants. Through small experiments such as strawberry DNA extraction and the morphology and movement of chloroplasts of the algae, they will experience the wonder of the plant world.

Open Day activities will be held in Shanghai Real Estate Special Medicinal Materials Resources Protection and Creation Exhibition Hall to learn about Chinese characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine resources, its regional distribution, quality standard system and simple processing technology of traditional Chinese medicine. Visitors will also be guided to visit the Traditional Chinese Medicine Cultural Park of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine to know the medicinal plants around them, so that they can know the Chinese medicinal materials around them, and explore their medicinal and health care value.

Combining the emerging major of traditional Chinese medicine of Nanjing Agricultural University and the excellent Chinese herbal medicine culture inherited for thousands of years, through the introduction of exhibition boards, on-site interaction and display, the distribution of science popularization brochures, and the publicity of Chinese herbal medicine related knowledge, this activity introduces the characteristics of Chinese herbal medicine with different uses and its important position in the development history of Chinese nation, with the main content that Chinese herbal medicine can treat indigestion, cold fever, insomnia, hemostasis and blood stasis, clearing heat and detoxification.
