La séptimo edición del “Día Internacional de la Fascinación por las Plantas” 2026 (DdFP 2026) será lanzada por fitólogos de todo el mundo bajo el paraguas de la Organización Europea de Ciencias Vegetales (EPSO).
La meta de esta actividad es juntar la mayor cantidad de personas fascinadas y entusiasmadas por la importancia de la ciencia de las plantas para la agricultura y producción sustentable de alimento nutritivo, como así también para la horticultura, forestación y fabricación, en base a plantas, de productos no alimenticios como papel, energía, madera y fármacos. El rol de las plantas en la conservación del medio ambiente es también uno de los puntos clave.

Fascination of Plants Day: IBONE at the Corrientes Promenade
On May 18, 2025, IBONE joins the International Fascination of Plants Day with activities at the Corrientes waterfront.
The Instituto de Botánica del Nordeste (IBONE, CONICET – UNNE) will participate in the International Fascination of Plants Day, a celebration organized by the European Plant Science Organization (EPSO) every May 18. On this occasion, researchers, fellows, and technicians from IBONE and the National University of the Northeast (UNNE) will carry out activities at Paseo Terrazas del Paraná (Av. Costanera Gral. San Martín 100, between Tomas Edison and San Martín) in the city of Corrientes. Different areas of IBONE will be present, sharing their research and daily activities in the field of plant science.
Joining us will be the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of UNNE, the Arboretum of FCA-UNNE, and the School of Gardening and Landscaping of the Nuestra Señora del Huerto Botanical Garden.
Through outdoor displays, participants will learn about the importance of plant science for the social and environmental context. Various activities will be carried out during the event to raise awareness and spread the significance of plants in all aspects of human life.
The event will include games, exhibits, and experiments aimed at fostering scientific curiosity among children and young people. For adults, there will be a space to share knowledge and showcase how we conduct research in an institute that depends on CONICET and UNNE, right here in our city.
All activities will take place from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
